Alleged Sabotage by Canonical
Well, I should say I don't appreciate Mark Shuttleworth's post to the OpenSuSE mailing list too much. It might be okay for most of you, but I feel it's tasteless. I have a naive side.

Besides, the real surprise was JP Rosevear's counterattack for Mark's post. JP argues that Canonical actively sabotages the development of Debian, e.g. by preventing the Debian GNOME maintainer from updating GNOME packages until after Ubuntu LSO had shipped. Again, it might be okay for most of you since Canonical hired him, but it still gets on my nerves somehow.

The funny part of this story is, some of OpenSuSE people seems to know things about Debian which I don't know.

But there isn't one Debian Gnome maintainer

There's a whole team. How can Ubuntu block Debian Gnome by hiring one person?

But AFAIK, that's not the case, only Sebastien basher is hire by canonical.
I really like to know what is true/wrong/FUD in this story, it seams to be important.

So if these maintainers had been hired by another company to do something totally different that prevented them from working on Gnome for Debian would that be better?
